The Kindred Healing Center: Nurturing Holistic Wellness in the Heart of Atlanta

The Kindred Healing Center opened its doors to offer an ecosystem of services that address the mind, body and spirit in a harmonious space. But the global pandemic of 2020 reshaped the landscape of business, forcing many to adapt quickly and resolutely. The Kindred Healing Center is one of those businesses.

Known as a haven of holistic wellness, the Kindred Healing Center found itself in the midst of this unprecedented storm … but also found a silver lining in the form of opportunity. The pandemic not only heightened the center’s commitment to the community, it also underscored the essential role holistic wellness can play in a time of crisis. The center’s services addressed the critical needs of those impacted during COVID and became a lifeline.

“Being able to maintain and stay open [during COVID] was rough,” owner Yolanda Neals-Kindred explains.” I recognized we needed a way to streamline and catch up and to get financial support. And that is why we reached out to Invest Atlanta.”

尤兰达和她的合伙人兼妻子. Rhonda Neals-Kindred found the help they needed through the 亚特兰大商业开放基金 (富含)b.

Supported by a $20 million donation from Wells Fargo, OFB is designed to help small business owners in Atlanta build wealth by investing in assets such as commercial space, 设备与技术. Moreover, OFB programs help Atlanta businesses impacted by the pandemic to recover.

In Kindred Healing Center’s case, their OFB experience was two-fold. Not only did the business receive the 亚特兰大复苏贷款, which it used for renovations and equipment; in the beginning of the loan application process, Yolanda was partnered with expert consultants through the Technical Assistance Program to guide her through every facet of applying for financial support.

Yolanda’s consultant both assisted in the loan process and also played a crucial role in ensuring that Kindred Healing Center had everything it needed to succeed.

“Without this help I really don’t think I'd be in the position that I am right now. Monique (Mills) helped me understand my own business even better. For that I am truly grateful,” she says. “I wasn’t focused on the world knowing who we were the first couple years. But now, I am confident about opening the doors to the world to show what we offer. Help from the Technical Assistance program has given me new confidence in the way we present ourselves to the world.”

Next, the Kindred Healing Center is embarking on expansion. The foundation built during the pandemic's early days has allowed the center to flourish and evolve, and its owners are now ready to increase its footprint, target specific wellness populations and share their deep understanding of the community's changing needs.
